The water level in Mahakali River has started rising due to the continuous rainfall since the past few days. The District Administration Office has warned people to remain alert because the water level in the river has started rising and this could lead to a dangerous situation.
The police have said that the water flow in the Mahakali River at the moment is 5.8 cusecs. If the flow crosses 6 cusecs then it will be dangerous, the police added. According to the local police, boulders and big logs of wood can be seen floating in the river.
The water level has risen above the levee in the Bangabagad area of Khalanga. Chief District Officer Siddharaj Joshi said that people have been urged to maintain caution because the water level in the river has been continuously increasing.
