KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing partial influence from a western low-pressure system, leading to partly to mostly cloudy conditions in the hilly regions, including Koshi Province, while the rest of the country remains clear.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather will stay partly to mostly cloudy in the hilly areas this afternoon, with clear skies elsewhere.
Light rain may occur in a few places in the hilly regions. There is also a chance of light snowfall in the higher elevations of Karnali, Gandaki, and Koshi Provinces, as well as in some mountainous areas of Sudurpaschim and Bagmati Provinces.
Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly regions, with clear skies across the rest of the country.
Light snowfall is possible in some high-altitude areas of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces.
In the next 24 hours, light snowfall is expected in some areas of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali, Gandaki, and Koshi Provinces, as well as in a few locations in the highlands of Sudurpaschim and Bagmati Provinces.
The Department has also issued an advisory about the potential for light rain in a few places in the hilly areas, which could disrupt daily life, agriculture, health, road transport, and aviation.
Additionally, fog is likely to develop in the Terai, Kathmandu Valley, and some hilly areas on Monday morning.
