After passing the inspection from Tribhuvan International Airport, the recovered gold has been taken to Nepal Rastra Bank for weighing.
The Revenue Investigation Department recovered about 100 kg of gold from Sinamangal on Wednesday night.
The gold was brought to Babarmahal in eight boxes from the Revenue Research Department at Pulchowk.
The gold, which was smuggled from Hong Kong by hiding it in the brake shoe of a motorcycle/scooter and a shaving razor, was seized from the customs office at the airport when it was about to be taken to a taxi.
So far, six people have been arrested in that case.
Likewise, the customs department has formed a 6-member investigation committee to investigate the passing of the gold inspection.
Also, the taxi used to bring out the gold and its driver have been arrested and the investigation has been started.
