After taking the oath of office and secrecy today, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he will do everything that is possible in the fight against the coronavirus in Nepal. He mentioned that he would utilise all the possible resources to control the spread of the second wave of the COVID-19 in the country.
PM Oli also said that he would leave no stone unturned to make sure that patients who have been infected with the coronavirus get proper treatment. He stated that he will mobilise all government bodies to control the spread of the infection and also requested all state mechanisms to collaborate and coordinate in this hour of crisis.
The prime minister also appealed to all the people to serve the nation in the fight against the COVID-19. He also urged all the oxygen manufacturing plants in the country to operate as per its full capacity. Citing that the government would coordinate the transportation and distribution of oxygen, he said that he would develop a mechanism whereby oxygen will be supplied as per need and the flow of patients infected with the virus.
Prime Minister Oli reiterated that the government will take stringent action against those found involved in corruption during the delivery of medical supplies, necessary equipment and health services. He also directed the concerned government authorities to increase monitoring and do the needful if any discrepancies are found.
The prime minister also said that government will try its best to avail vaccines against the coronavirus as soon as possible. He further mentioned that the government will provide the necessary support to industries that have been hit hard by the COVID-19.
