On the occasion of Mahashivratri, President Bidya Devi Bhandari performed worship and darshan at Pashupatinath Temple. After the worship, President Bhandari received prasad from Ganesh Bhatta, the original Bhatta of Pashupatinath Temple.
Earlier, when President Bhandari came to the Pashupatinath temple premises, he was welcomed by Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kiranti, who is also the Chairman of Pashupati Area Development Fund Management Council, member secretary of the fund, Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, treasurer Narayan Prasad Subedi, members of the council, executive director and other staff members.
On the occasion of Mahashivratri, there is a tradition of worshiping and visiting the Pashupatinath temple. At Pashupatinath Temple, millions of devotees still queue up to see Darshan.
On the occasion of Mahashivratri, all four doors of the Pashupatinath temple will be open till 7 am on Sunday, said Revathiraman Adhikari, spokesperson of the fund. According to him, all four doors were opened from 3 o'clock this morning.
On the occasion of Mahashivratri, Shankar Acharya of Gobaddhan Math along with Nischalananda Saraswati came to the Pashupati area with 5000 sadhusants, according to the fund. Five thousand security personnel and four thousand volunteers have been deployed in the Pashupati area on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
