Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya has informed that all necessary preparations for the elections to the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly to be held on Sunday, November 20 have been completed. From 12 o'clock on Thursday night, all the propaganda related to elections has been banned. Posting and sharing in favor of the candidates has also been banned on social networks. Social networking companies are also helping the Election Commission to monitor such work.
Chief Commissioner Thapaliya informed that all the employees have reached the respective centers for the election. The polling station is set to be built within 2 days.
In a press conference held at the Commission today, Chief Election Commissioner Thapaliya requested all the voters to vote confidently as the Commission has made proper security arrangements for the elections. Arrangements have been made to conduct aerial patrols for security on Election Day. The sale of alcohol has been banned in any district until the counting of votes.
Chief Commissioner Thapaliya said that no one intended to capture the booth and win the elections. Similarly, he made it clear that during voting, people other than the disabled cannot vote cast.
This year, 44 different national and 2 international organizations will supervise the election. Similarly, major election commissioners from India and other countries are coming to supervise the election.
The Election Commission has prepared to start counting the votes as soon as the ballot boxes are collected at the counting center after the election. The Commission aims to complete the counting of the candidates for the House of Representatives across the country by November 23 and to complete the counting of proportional votes within the next 5 days. The Election Commission aims to complete all the work related to the election and submit a report to the President by December 8.
The government of Nepal has already announced 2 days holiday for the election and the Commission has requested to give a holiday to the private sector as well. Similarly, since November 20, the Bagmati Civilization Project has asked the squatters on the banks of Bagmati to move out, and the commission has also instructed them to stop the work until the elections are held. Chief Commissioner Thapaliya informed that vehicles can be used at four or five in the early morning on the day of elections.
The commission said that the investigation will continue even after the person has been elected for 5 years. Complaints about the qualifications of the candidates who have been elected will be investigated. The commission has made it clear that the ballot papers prepared by the Election Commission do not match the ballot papers found in Parsa. This time, the advertisement board has been instructed to remove the advertisements of the candidates posted on the social network.
