During today's special sitting of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, the CA members expressed their views on the activities of the provincial government. During the meeting, members of the main opposition party CPN (UML) accused the government of initiating preparations for the recruitment of cadres and pressuring the hospital chairpersons and officials of various organizations appointed by the previous government against the law.
He accused the incumbent Chief Minister of distributing at the rate of Rs. 500,000 to the party cadres. He urged the government to stop such activities immediately as it was wrong to distribute 2,300 pieces of cadres in the run-up to the election.
Similarly, the members of the opposition party Bibeksheel Saja Party and Nemkipa said that the issue of the state capital should be reviewed and urged the government and the parliament to make it work by making proper arrangements. He suggested the government to work in the field of public services. He emphasized the need to reduce the number of ministers and ministries in order to reduce the financial burden on the state.
Members of the ruling party praised the current government for doing what the ruling party has not been able to do for the past four years. He lauded the leadership of the government for the past four years for failing to work on behalf of some people and for the efforts made by the current government to some extent.
He said that there should be no immediate comparison between three months of leadership and four years of leadership. He urged the present government to work seriously on behalf of the people as it was not allowed to make mistakes like the previous government. He said that the government should focus on economic development with the interest of the people by bringing a plan of a nature felt by the common people.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Rajendraman Shrestha, Munu Sigdel, Laxman Lamsal of CPN (Maoist Center), Yuvraj Dulal of CPN (Maoist Center), Om Bahadur Glan, Nhuchenarayan Shrestha of Nepali Congress, Bhimsen Khatri, Jeevan Dangol, Vijaya KC Shrestha and CPN (UML). Ashtalakshmi Shakya, Kailash Prasad Dhungel, Keshav Raj Pandey, Saresh Nepal, Dawa Dorje Lama, Deepak Niraula, Ramesh Poudyal of Opposition Bibeksheel Saja Party, Shobha Shakya, Surendra Raj Gosain of NCP and Rina Gurung of RPP expressed their views.
Similarly, Chief Minister Rajendra Prasad Pandey presented the annual report of the Auditor General and the annual report of the Chief Justice. The meeting of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly has been postponed till March 22, said Sanu Kumar Shrestha, Speaker of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly.
