Chairperson of the CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli, has directed lawmakers of the Federal Parliament to reach the doorsteps of the people during the upcoming local-level election.
During the Parliamentary Party meeting of the CPN (UML) at New Baneshwor on Wednesday, Chair Oli urged the party lawmakers to reach out to the people as the CPN (UML) alone has to compete with the five-party alliance.
The UML chair talked about the matter of ending the winter session of the federal parliament in a hurry by the government and contemporary issues, said Party's Chief Whip, Bishal Bhattarai.
Bhattarai added that the party is ready to participate in the local-level elections at a time when it has already conducted ward, municipal and district-level conventions and determining criteria for candidate selection.
Saying the UML alone is capable to compete with the incumbent five-party alliance, he clarified that the concerned committee would elect the most deserving candidates, who are people's representatives and have done good works, unanimously as soon as possible.
