A complaint has been lodged against Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana at Department of Money Laundering Investigation. On behalf of the massive civil movement, Prof. Dr Govinda KC has lodged a complaint with the department demanding investigation into the assets of the Chief Justice.
The department has been called upon to investigate the allegations of corruption on Chief Justice Rana, his relatives, close judges, staff and professional mediators.
The complaint letter states, "Based on the news and other information materials published so far and receiving the related complaint, effective information and other necessary action should be taken immediately to seize the property obtained from the offender and punish the person involved in the offense."
The Nepal Bar Association has been agitating for the past two months demanding the removal of Chief Justice after he was involved in a dispute over the distribution of cabinet members.
