The counting of votes in the Rambha village municipality of Palpa, which has been stopped, will start today. The counting of votes in Ward No. 5 Tahu was postponed from 5 pm on May 14 due to a dispute.
The Election Commission has directed the Election Office, Palpa and the District Administration Office to start the counting of votes which has been stopped by the staff. The commission has directed the administration to conduct special counting of votes. After the commission sent a letter on Wednesday instructing to count the votes, the counting of votes will be done on Friday by the staff on Thursday.
According to Rambha Election Officer Krishna Prasad Bhandari, the counting of votes is underway now that the staff has been managed. The counting was postponed after 74 fake votes were found during the counting process. One thousand 922 votes were cast here.
Various parties in the ruling coalition have issued a statement dissenting from the public results and demanding re-polling. There was a scuffle between the coalition cadres and the police at the polling station. In the district which has two municipalities and eight villages, the results of nine local level polls have been made public.
