A meeting of the parliamentary party (PP) of the ruling CPN-UML has decided to make the party’s role effective in the Parliament.
In the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Baluwatar today, Minister for Finance Bishnu Poudel urged the parliamentarians to furnish suggestions and submit plans and programmes to be included in the upcoming budget.
Party’s senior leader Jhalanath Khanal and other disgruntled leaders were also present at today’s meeting. The PP leader and chair KP Sharma Oli noted that the decisions taken following the apex court verdict giving separate status to UML will not be withdrawn.
He further shared that these decisions could be amended as per necessity but not to be withdrawn. According to chief whip Bishal Bhattarai, chair Oli shared that the PP meeting will take place regularly and the party’s role will be made effective in the parliament.
Bhattarai quoted chairman Oli as saying that leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Bhim Rawal were liable for action for not furnishing satisfactory clarifications.
Also speaking on the occasion, disgruntled leaders Ghanshyam Bhusal, Yogesh Bhattarai and Gokarna Bista had urged chair Oli to make the party intact.
