Senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Ramchandra Poudel, has expressed worry over the activities that were jeopardising democracy and the country.
At a condolence gathering organised on the seventh day of the passing away of NC central member and former minister Nabindra Raj Joshi at Devghat on Thursday, senior leader Poudel said the uncertainty was taking a toll on Nepal casting further chaos. "Currently, sheer uncertainty is afflicting the country. It is a bad omen for democracy," he reminded.
He opined that country at present was in need of an able, honest and devoted leader like Joshi. "How can we fulfil the vision of such a committed leader," he wondered, expressing grief over the demise of leader Joshi. Country and people were the top priority of the late leader, Poudel added.
Various leaders of the party from Tanahun, Dhading, and Chiwan highlighted the role of late leader Joshi in Nepali politics and democracy.
After the programme, the bodily remains of the late leader Joshi was released at Devghat — Beni confluence of Narayani River — as per the wish of Joshi's mother.
