The Election Commission (EC) has said that the Supreme Court's verdict delivered on Sunday regarding the authenticity of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been registered at the EC after receiving it in office time.
Issuing a press statement, EC's Spokesperson Raj Kumar Shrestha said that the SC's verdict regarding the EC's decision taken on different dates to register the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) was received adding that the decision was scrapped from the certiorari order of the SC.
The bench of Justices duo Bam Kumar Shrestha and Kumar Regmi at the Supreme Court today delivered the verdict that 'Nepal Communist Party' (NCP) belongs to leader Rishi Kattel.
Kattel had filed a writ petition at the apex court arguing that he had registered the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) at Election Commission in 2069 BS, but then CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Centre had registered the party in the same name -- Nepal Communist Party (NCP) after unification in 2075 BS.
