Bikal Sherchan of Nepali Congress appointed as Provincial Assembly (2). Sherchan defeating CPN-UML's Chandramohan Gauchan by 158 votes in Mustang.
While Sherchan won with 2,730 votes, his nearest competitor Gauchan of UML got 2,565 votes. CPN-UML District President Gauchan was also a member of the Provincial Assembly on the proportional side. In Mustang, the Congress has won all the direct seats in the House of Representatives and the State Assembly.
