Elections will be held on time: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government-announced elections will be held in the stipulated time.

At a public gathering organised by the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chitwan on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli asserted that the stipulated date of the elections would not change.

"Please be assured the election will be held in the stated date", he said, urging the people to give the mandate to those working for the people and the country.

Claiming that he and his party could safeguard nationality and independence of the country in a true sense, he said, "We did not bow down before the despotic monarch and Panchayati autocratic regime. Such situation is no longer in existence".

Nepal has ushered into a new era, the prime minister said, adding, "We have experimented new things in several sectors. We have embarked on our mega campaign to develop the country".

Shari9ng that a master plan is being charted out for the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhyapuri, he said, noting, "The idol of Lord Ram has been already constructed while the idol of Sita is under construction. The idols of Laxman and Hanuman will also be erected", he further said. In the Ram Navami next year, a constellation ceremony will be held a grand manner in Ayotdhyapuri, the birthplace of Lord Ram".

"This area will be turned into a spectacular tourism site. Many pilgrims would make it their destination", PM Oli said.

On another note, PM Oli said that the area of 4,788 square kilometres from Daunne of Nawalpur to Makawanpur would be developed as the Chitwan Valley. The task of framing a master plan to this end would also gain momentum, he added.

The country will be graduated to developing country from the current status of least developed country, he said, adding the country now has witnessed a higher pace of development.

He also pledged to provide vaccines against COVID-19 to all the people by 2021.

On the occasion, Minister for Home Ram Bahadur Thapa argued that HoR dissolution was a constitutional act. People have given answer about this constitutional step, he said, adding that people have given message against the split in the party.

Thapa was of the view that he was for party, not for any group.

Saying purification campaign was initiated in the party at present, Thapa stated that such a move was against intraparty opportunism and ill practices.

Minister Thapa shared that the government wants to establish stability in the country adding that progress is not likely without stability.

Also speaking at the programme, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Dormani Poudel said that the government has forwarded the journey to prosperity.

He argued that the current government carried out only development while working against corruption.

Likewise, Minister for Urban Development Prabhu Saha promised to develop Chitwan as a model of prosperity.

Similarly, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang stated that the campaign for ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ has already initiated and shared that mega projects for the nation’s development were already started.

On the occasion, NCP Bagmati Province Committee Chairman Ananda Pokhrel, chairman of Land-related Problems Resolution Commission and CPN central committee member Devi Prasad Gyawali and other leaders argued for election to end the existing uncertainties in the country.
