The final name list of the candidates contesting in the Free Student Union (FSU) election at the Tribhuvan University (TU) has been published on Monday, giving way for the final electoral candidates to launch an election campaign.
The final name list was published after scrutiny of the nominated candidates and their nominations being withdrawn, it was told.
According to the election calendar, the final name list would be published on Monday by 2 pm.
Those whose names have been published in the final name list could only run the election campaign, starting from today up to midnight on March 16, said Pashupati Adhikari, Director of the TU Students Welfare and Sports Directorate.
The FSU election code of conduct prevents electoral candidates from painting on the wall or posting posters for the election campaign. Furthermore, no flags, leaflets, or flexes could be posted in public places during the campaign.
The FSU election has been set for March 19. The election would take place from 8:00 am to 4:00 on the day.
The much-awaited FSU election is going to be held in a total of 62 constituent and 1,040 affiliated campuses of the TU across the country.
Earlier in 2017, the election of FSU election was announced but the election was held only on some campuses.
