In a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, lawmakers demanded time from the Speaker to draw the government's attention towards various contemporary issues ranging from lightning fatalities to the social 'intolerance' towards inter-caste marriages.
Once the session convened, Dipak Giri sought time from Speaker Devraj Ghimire and apprised the House of the deaths of four from the lightning strikes in Dang and Baglung recently. He demanded the compensation of Rs one million each to the bereaved families.
It may be noted that Ram Narayan Chaudhary and Samir KC of Dang were killed by lightning two days back and two-year-old Dinesh BK and Sunita BK were hit by the thunderbolt and died a few days ago.
