Khimlal Devkota, who recently won the by-election to the National Assembly of Bagmati Province, has revealed that he had received threats over the phone before the elections.
He has posted a message on his Facebook account mentioning that prior to the by-elections to the National Assembly many people had tried to coax him to withdraw his candidacy. Devkota stated that many had threatened him too.
Devkota also mentioned that he has recorded some of the calls. He stated that if and when needed he will make public the names of those who threatened him by releasing those voice recordings.
In the recently concluded by-election, Devkota had triumphed against for Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa (Badal).
