In Matihani Municipality of Mahottari, the candidate of Democratic Socialist Party of Nepal has won the post of Chief and Deputy Chief. According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Hari Prasad Mandal got 4,003 votes in the Chief and Manju Devi got 3,864 votes in the Deputy Chief.
Chief Electoral Officer Deepak Kumar Kharel said that his nearest rival for the chief post, Mohammad Mujibul Rahman of Janata Samajwadi Party of Nepal, got 3,864 votes and Jivchi Devi Yadav of the same party got 2,751 votes for the post of deputy chief. This is the sixth local level of Matihani district where the counting of votes has been declared.
Earlier, the results of Ramgopalpur and Manarashishwa municipalities and Mahottari, Pipra and Ekdara villages have been made public. The district has 15 local levels including 10 municipalities and five village municipalities. Nine local level results are yet to be announced. According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, the results of all the locallevels will be announced by tonight.
