The opposition leaders in Lumbini Province have drawn attention of Province Chief Amik Sherchan, stating that the incumbent government in the province lost majority.
The opposition leaders also urged the Province Chief to take initiatives for the formation of a majority government.
Nepali Congress province parliamentary party leader Birendra Kumar Kanaudiya, Maoist Centre province parliamentary party leader Kul Prasad KC, Janata Samajwadi Party's Sahasram Yadav and Rastriya Janamorcha's Tara GC met with Sherchan and submitted a memorandum for initiating fresh beginning for the formation of majority government.
"On behalf of the opposition alliance, we request the Province Chief to take the needed steps for the formation of majority government as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal by dissolving the incumbent government," read the memorandum.
They have also asked to mend the province government's wrong move to weaken the Province Chief and belittle the dignity of the constitution and Province Chief.
