The split group of CPN UML led by Madhav Kumar Nepal on Friday changed the name of the party recently registered at the Election commission.
According to a leader close to senior leader Nepal, a party meeting held today decided to change the name of the party after the Election Commission suggested that they change the name of the party and make it different from the CPN UML.
Meanwhile, the leaders decided to register the party name as NCP Ekikrit Samajwadi (NCP Unified Socialist).
A group of leaders including Rajendra Pandey had reached the office of the Election Commission to amend the name of the party. Likewise, the proposed 15-member Central Committee has been expanded with the inclusion of a total of 115 members.
Likewise, the party leaders have yet to decide on the election symbol. Earlier, the party members had concurred with each other to take 'open book' as their party's election symbol. However, it could not be taken as the symbol is used by another political party.
