Senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel has stressed that the contribution of martyrs should not be forgotten. Unveiling a half-sized statue of Martyr Bikram Pariyar at Bhadgaon in Beas Municipality-1 of Tanahu today, he said that the martyr should always be respected as he has made significant contribution in the democratic movement of Nepal. Stressing the need to perpetuate the contribution of late Bikram Pariyar, Poudel said, "Congress always respects the families of martyrs."
In a different context, he said that in the past all communist leaders were in favor of MCC but now they are against it at the behest of China.
Central member of the same party Shankar Bhandari said that the party has not been able to show due respect to the martyrs. Stressing the need to make Congress a well-organized party, he said that the Congress would win all the elections only then. Central Member Govinda Bhattarai expressed his view that the party should help the family of Martyr Bikram Pariyar.
Chief of Beas Municipality Baikuntha Neupane said that Rs 1 million has been provided by the municipality for construction of the statue of Martyr Bikram Pariyar and a park. Congress district president Jit Prakash Ale expressed the party's commitment to honor the martyrs who lost their lives in the democratic movement.
The Bikram Pariyar Statue and Park Construction Committee had commissioned the construction of a half-sized statue of Pariyar at a cost of Rs 1.1 million. The statue of Martyr Pariyar was erected by Bir Uparkoti of Beas Municipality-12.
Pariyar, who was active in the field of music, was assassinated by some youths after the local level election on May 14, 2017. Pariyar was born in Huslang, Bandipur on May 24, 1974.
