The senior leader of Nepali Congress, Ramchandra Poudel, has said that the party's 14th general convention should be made a success despite the tough time due to the COVID-19 pandemic and monsoon season.
Issuing a press statement today ahead of the party's ward-level convention, senior leader Poudel has urged all to follow health protocol while attending the events.
Saying that a robust leadership was needed in the NC for the country's economic prosperity through the institutionalisation of democracy, Poudel has appealed to the party leaders and cadres to decide by listening to one's internal voice.
Likewise, former general secretary Prakashman Singh and party leader Shekhar Koirala have also issued separate press statements calling on the leaders and cadres to elect efficient and robust leadership in the party's ward committee.
In his statement, Koirala has cautioned one and all to remain aware not to invite a situation to hold the party's general convention by going beyond the party statute and constitution.
Koirala has expressed his concerns about the groupism in the party while asking the leaders to end the trend of factionalism.
