Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has mentioned that due to the dissolution of the House of Representatives democracy was at risk in the country. He stated that they now needed to go against such undemocratic practices.
During the interaction with editors and senior journalists of various media houses today, Deuba also said that the president had tries to demean the principles and practices of democracy by refusing to accept the claim he had made to form the government with the signatures of 149 lawmakers.
Deuba also mentioned the constitution itself was at risk due to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s autocratic way of doing things. He also said that Oli had the habit of trying to govern the country through ordinances, and controlling the judicial system, constitutional bodies and other national organisations.
He stated they were trying to overcome the present challenges brought about by the recent moves of the prime minister and if necessary will organise protest programmes.
