Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chairperson of CPN UML, has called for a meeting of the party’s Standing Committee today. The meeting will be held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar at 2 pm.
The meeting will hold discussions on the recent political developments that the country has witnessed and also on the differences that have surface within the party in the past few weeks.
PM Oli and senior leader of the party Madhav Kumar Nepal, on May 16, had agreed to form a 10-member taskforce that has been assigned to find solutions to the problems that have been dogging the party. Though the taskforce was supposed to submit its findings within three days it has been able to hold only one meeting till date, which was on May 18.
The taskforce was supposed to hold a meeting on Thursday but it was cancelled at the last moment. The taskforce is scheduled to hold a meeting today at 5 pm.
