The total number of voters in the local level elections to be held on Friday is 1,77,333,723. Out of this, there are 89 lakh 92 thousand 10 male voters and 87 lakh 21 thousand 530 female voters. The number of third gender voters is 183.
There are 145,011 candidates in the local level elections out of which 89,313 are male candidates and 55,698 are female candidates. 390 people have been elected unopposed.
The total number of people's representatives to be elected in the local level elections is 35,221. There are 293 available posts for mayor and deputy mayor each across the country, 460 candidates for chief and deputy chief each.
Similarly, there are 6743 available posts for ward chairpersons, 6743 women members, 6743 Dalit women members and 13 thousand 486 open ward members.
There are 79 parties registered with the Election Commission for this year’s local level elections, out of which 65 parties have nominated candidates for at least one post. There are 14 parties that have not nominated a single candidate.
At the local level, there are 6 metropolitan cities, 11 sub-metropolitan cities, 276 municipalities and 460 village municipalities in Nepal.
A total of 10,756 polling stations have been set up for the local level elections.
This election season, 1 lakh 9 thousand 88 employees have been deployed by the Election Commission. Similarly, 65 thousand 865 volunteers have been deployed in the election. 5,000 observers have been deployed across Nepal to observe the election.
