With the government announcing the date of local elections, the people's representatives of Banke are seen enthusiastic. Kohalpur Municipality Chief Lut Bahadur Rawat said that with the announcement of the election by the government, the fear of lack of local level people's representatives has been removed.
He said that with the announcement of the date of local elections, new enthusiasm should come in the political parties and the general public along with the people's representatives.
The cabinet meeting held on Monday has decided to hold the local level election in one phase on April 12, 2010. Chairman of Khajura Village Municipality Kismat Kumar Kakshapati said that the people's representatives who have been running the local government since the local level election of 2017 were happy with the announcement of the election.
Stating that going among the people is a beautiful aspect of democracy, he said that it is a matter of happiness for all to be able to express their views by evaluating the past work in the local level election to be held on April 12.
The acting chairperson of Janaki village Bhumisara Dhital said that the people's representatives should be ready for the new referendum. He said that the announcement of local-level elections has helped in defending the constitution by leading the country in a democratic manner.
With the announcement of the election, political parties have started conducting their activities in all the eight local levels and 81 wards of Banke. Central Member of the CPN-UML and Banke District In-Charge Surya Dhakal said that the party is going to launch an organizational strengthening campaign in wards and tols with the announcement of the local level election.
