Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is making preparations to reshuffle the Council of Ministers again. The prime minister who reshuffled the Cabinet on Friday after Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal joined the government is planning to add more ministers.
It has been reported that Oli is making preparations to include a few lawmakers from the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction who join the government as ministers. The prime minister at present has kept seven ministerial portfolios with him. According to a source, PM Oli is planning to add a couple of new faces in the Council of Ministers and leave the remaining for those who join from the Nepal faction of CPN UML.
As per the source, Mahesh Basnet and Bimala Rai are vying to be appointed as ministers. Similarly, Khagraj Adhikari, Mohan Baniya, Naradmuni Rana, Asha Bishwakarma and Sujita Shakya are also vying for ministerial posts.
PM Oli at present has Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology under his jurisdiction. The other ministries under Oli at the moment are Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Ministry of Forests and Environment and Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.
