Preparations for local elections
The District Election Office, Palpa, has started preparations for the local level election to be held on May 13. The office is currently working on updating the voter list.
The office will finalize the list of voters who have completed 18 years of age by May 12, 2022. According to the Election Office, the voter lists of 81 wards of the ten municipalities of the district will be published and pasted on the information boards by March 3 and the wards will send recommendations to correct the errors in the voter lists published from March 4 to 6.
It has been said that the ward will recommend to the District Election Office to remove the person who has been in the voter list published till March 7, in case of death or renunciation of Nepali citizenship.
The office has made public the schedule of publishing the names of the removed voters on the notice board of the office after investigating the complaints against the voter list.
Acting Chief of the District Election Office, Binod Ghimire, said that work is underway to re-verify the details of the final list from the wards by March 12 and send the final details of the voter list to the Election Commission.
