Nepali Congress leader Prakashman Singh has stated that he helped Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to become the party president as per the sentiments of the voters at the party's 14th general convention. Speaking at a function organized by Nepali Congress Regional Working Committee Constituency No. 2 at Suryabinayak in Bhaktapur today, he said that he had helped Deuba in the first phase of the election as per the sentiments of the voters.
Leader Singh said, "I had asked for votes in the General Convention carrying the agenda of change in central leadership and that the party should be run in a lawful and institutional manner, but the voters did not vote for my agenda. Voters did not want change. So I helped Deuba in the elections respecting voters' wishes.”
