UML's Bimala Ghimire has been elected as the vice president of the National Assembly.
Ghimire was elected from Congress after defeating Bishnudevi Pudasaini. While Ghimire got 39 votes, Pudasaini got only 16 votes. Ghimire was also supported by CPN Maoists, CPN- United Samajbadi, and the Janata Samajbadi Party.
The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held on Friday.
