CPN (UML) candidate Tikaram Khadka has taken the lead in the Dang, Tulsipur sub-metropolitan constituency with 1,161 votes. He has so far garnered 16,796 votes, while his nearest rival candidate Gehendra Giri of the Nepali Congress has garnered 15,535 votes.
In the local level election held on May 13, UML candidate Sani Chaudhary is leading with 16,079 votes while Jog Bahadur Rana of the CPN (Unified Socialist) has got 11,445 votes.
Meanwhile, UML's Yamaraj KC has won in Ward No. 10 by getting 1,879 votes. His rival Dhurbahadur Shah of the Nepali Congress polled 1,023 votes. So far, the results of 10 wards of Tulsipur have been made public. Counting of votes in Tulsipur 11 and 12 is underway.
UML had won the previous local elections in Tulsipur. In Tulsipur, 74,336 out of 101,460 voters had cast their votes.
