Who will win the presidential election?

The presidential election continues amid tight security. Electoral Officer Mahesh Sharma Paudel informed that the polling started at 10 am and will continue till 3 pm and the results will be announced this evening.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Madhav Kumar Nepal, and others have already voted. Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel and CPN-UML's Subas Nemwang who are competing to become the third president of Nepal have also voted.

Paudel reached the Parliament building premises about an hour before the voting started. Responding to the journalists, he said, 'Honorable persons are going to come for voting. I came early to greet them.' He expressed confidence that all the members of the National Assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Provincial Assembly will vote for him after evaluating his history and contribution.

Another candidate, Nemwang, reached the polling station only after the voting started. He stood with Poudel and took a photo, shook hands and both of them raised their hands in greeting.

Security has been tightened inside and outside the Parliament building targeting the elections.

Bidya Devi Bhandari's two consecutive terms will end, so the election was held today to elect a new president. The election for the post of Vice President will be held after.

The Election Commission is preparing to announce the third President of Nepal by 7 pm today.
