Women leaders of Baglung have united to prove their leadership in the upcoming local elections. In coordination with the Inter-Party Women's Network, any party in Baglung has taken the lead in fielding women candidates and united the women leaders of all parties.

Women belonging to different political parties in Baglung have united and raised their voices to create pressure in their own party to make different gender compulsory in the main post as per the provisions of the constitution. Kusum Budha, the chairperson of the Inter-Party Women's Network, said that they will work together to establish women's leadership in all 85 wards, including the 10 local level chiefs of Baglung.

"Currently, women from Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center), and other parties are uniting and pressuring women to run for office," said Budha.

He said that women have not been given a place in the name of the alliance even though the constitution has made it compulsory for a woman to be the chief and chairperson of the corporation or deputy chief and vice-chairperson.

Budha said that the inter-party women's movement was putting pressure on all parties for women's leadership. Sakuntala Sharma, the advisor of the inter-party women's network, said that different genders should be made mandatory in the chief and deputy chief, regardless of whether it is a left or a democratic alliance in Baglung.

Stating that they have moved forward by forming common ground through an inter-party women's network, CPN (UML) state secretariat member Mamta Devi Sharma said that they will forcibly establish women's leadership in the upcoming election.

Although there are more women voters than men, the women leaders say that they are ready to face the situation by changing the mindset by saying that women are always mobilized only for asking and voting for male candidates.
