15th Late Hareram Joshi Memorial Open Table Tennis Tournament has concluded successfully today at National Tabletennis Training Center, Lainchaur.
Gananjaya Dahal from Kathmandu secured the First position in the Men’s Single category, Manish kharel secured the Second position, Himal Bista and Mukesh Maharjan secured Third position in the category. Similarly, In the Women’s Single category, Sushmita Khadka from Kathmandu secured the First position, Nikita Kasti from Lalitpur secured the Second position, Subhashree Shrestha and Pranika Kunwar secured Third position in the category.
The winners of other categories are Umesh Manandhar in the Men’s Veterans 40+ category, Rajendra Bajrachaya in Men’s Veterans 50+ category, Jagdeshwor Prasad Joshi in Men’s 60+ category, Sabita Basnet in Women’s 50+ category.
Arshna Maharjan and Shurya Shakya were awarded rising player of the event.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, as schools are still closed the running shield was not brought out this year informed Rakesh Maharjan, Member of Hareram Joshi Memorial Foundation and Tabletennis coach of Nepal Police Club (NPC).
‘A total of 230 players; 195 men and 35 women took part in the event which is very less as we didn’t have school level categories this year’, informed Maharjan.
The chief guest of the event Chaturananda Raj Vaidya, Executive Director of Nepal Olympic Committee(NOC) and the President of All Nepal Table Tennis Association(ANTTA) along with guests Former chief coach of ANTTA, Ramesh Raj Joshi and Dharma Man Bajracharya, President of Kathmandu district table tennis association (KDTTA) handed over the awards.
