Taekwondo player Palesha Govardhan, who led Nepal to the 4th Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China, will be celebrated in Kathmandu. Although Nepal has participated in the Asian Para Games since the first edition, taekwondo has been included only in the fourth edition. Coach Kabiraj Negi Lama, who returned with Palesha, has also been welcomed.
In the women's K-44 category under 57 kg quarterfinals, Palesha defeated China's Liting Yang and confirmed her place in the semi-finals. Despite losing to Kamilya from Kazakhstan in the semi-finals, Palesha's bronze medal was confirmed after receiving a bye in the repechage.
She is studying for a bachelor's degree in architecture engineering at Tongji University in Shanghai.
