Star India batter Virat Kohli loves playing against Australia. On the fourth day of the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia, Virat completed his 2,000 Test runs against them and 5,000 international runs against the same opposition. Celebrating Virat's two new records, let us look at his top five knocks against the Aussies.

116 at Adelaide in the 4th Test, during 2012 tour of Australia

India's 2011-12 tour of Australia was a nightmarish one. Legends like Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and VVS Laxman struggled in the fast, bouncy Australian conditions they thrived in. But a young Virat Kohli made a statement with his maiden century in the fourth Test. He became the only Indian player to cross 300 runs in the series.

In the first Test, India was set a target of 364 to win and Virat decided to go for a win. He scored 141 in 175 balls with 16 fours and a six. He had also scored 115 in the first innings. But Virat's efforts were in vain as India lost by 48 runs.

In the ICC T20 World Cup 2016, this was a must-win game for both sides to advance to the final four. India lost its way during the chase of 161, but Virat's knock of 82* in 51 balls with nine fours and two sixes guided India to a memorable win and to the semis.

This is one of Virat's finest ODI hundreds. India was given a target of 299 to chase in order to level the series. Kohli scored 104 in 112 balls, with five fours and two sixes to help India win by six wickets with four balls to spare.

186 during the 4th Test, during the home series against Australia in 2023

Virat did not have the best 2020s decade so far with the bat, especially in Tests. Though he regained his form in white-ball cricket, his place in the Test side was questioned. Kohli's reply was 186 off 364 balls, consisting of 15 well-placed fours and a top-tier game against spin, something Virat was struggling with for a while.
