In the women's kabaddi of Hangzhou Asiad, Nepal became the runner-up of Group 'B' and entered the semi-finals on Wednesday.
In the last league of Group B, defending champion Iran defeated Bangladesh by a wide margin of 54-16 and Nepal became the runner-up in the group and reached the semi-finals. With the victory in this group consisting of three teams, Iran entered the semi-finals as the group winner. Bangladesh has been eliminated from the tournament with 2 consecutive defeats.
Earlier, Nepal defeated Bangladesh 37-24 in the first match of the group stage.
After entering the semi-finals, Nepal has secured at least a bronze medal. Nepal will compete against India in the semi-finals on Friday. The next semi-final will be between Iran and Chinese Taipei on Friday.
