KATHMANDU: Bangladesh has won the SAFF Women's Championship 2024 title.
Bangladesh defended their title by defeating Nepal 2-1 at Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday. Nepal has become the runner-up in the SAFF Championship.
Bangladesh scored a goal in the 80th minute of the game and took a 2-1 lead. As Bangladesh took a 1-0 lead against Nepal earlier, Nepal scored a goal within a few minutes to equalize the match.
In the 52nd minute of the game, Bangladesh took a 1-0 lead, and in the 55th minute of the game, Amisha Karki equalized the game by scoring a goal for Nepal.
With this, Bangladesh has won the SAFF title for the second time in a row. Bangladesh also won the title for the first time by defeating Nepal in the 2022 SAFF final. Similarly, Nepal has been defeated in the SAFF finals for the sixth time including this.
