The 23rd International Invitational Budhasubba Gold Cup Tournament is scheduled to start on April 9 at Dharan-16 Stadium. The project was canceled last year due to the Corona epidemic.
Chairman of Dharan Football Club Kishor Rai informed that eight teams including the organizing club will participate in the competition. According to him, the best three teams of the recently concluded Martyrs' Memorial League in Kathmandu will participate. He informed that two clubs from India and two other best clubs from Mofasal will also participate in the competition.
The winner will receive a cash trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 1 million and the runner-up will receive a cash prize of Rs 500,000. The best player of the tournament will get Rs. 150,000. The organizers have estimated that it will cost Rs. 51.32 million. According to the organizers, the competition has been prepared to make a profit of around Rs 1.5 million.
The cash prizes for the winners and runners-up will be managed by Dharan Sub-metropolis. The sub-metropolis has allocated Rs. 1.8 million for that. Out of that, Rs. 1 million has been allocated for the first prize and Rs. 500,000 for the second prize.
He said that the organizers will form two teams with the aim of winning the title this time. Chairman Rai said that a senior team will be formed including A division and foreign players to win the title
