Hakan Calhanoglu has joined Inter Milan on a free move from the other side of Milan City, the Serie A Champion confirmed on Tuesday.

The Turkish midfielder joined AC Milan from Bayer Leverkusen in 2017, with his original contract with the Rossoneri due to expire this summer, but both parties failed to reach an agreement on a new deal. The 27-year-old became another Milan player to leave as a free agent, following Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is believed to join PSG.

It is reported that the Turk has signed a three-year contract with the Beneamata worth five million euros per year plus performance-related bonuses.

"FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Hakan Calhanoglu has joined the Nerazzurri. The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a deal with the club lasting until June 30, 2024," read a statement.

Calhanoglu just finished his Euro 2020 campaign with Turkey as they bowed out in the group stage after three consecutive defeats.
