Lionel Messi remains in doubt for Inter Miami's clash with Houston Dynamo in the US Open Cup final because of an unspecified muscle injury, Inter manager Gerardo Martino said on Sunday.
Argentina captain Messi missed Inter Miami's 1-1 away draw with Orlando City on Sunday, as did his former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
Messi and Alba have not trained since limping off injured in the first half of Inter Miami's 4-0 home victory over Toronto on Wednesday. Busquets was not included in Martino's match-day squad on Sunday due to a migraine.
"We're taking it day by day," Martino said of Messi's chances of playing at Inter's DRV PNK stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday.
"We will evaluate it, first I will listen to what he tells me, how he feels and we also have to evaluate the future risks," he added.
Messi has scored 11 goals in 12 appearances for Inter Miami since joining the Major League Soccer (MLS) club on a free transfer in July.
In August, he guided the Florida outfit to the Leagues Cup title -- the club's first trophy -- and has sparked a resurgence in the MLS.
