An international-standard stadium has been constructed in Bhojpur. The key to the stadium has been handed to the District Coordination Committee (DCC) with the completion of the stadium.
Shiva Kumar Shah, Engineer at the Urban Development and Building Construction Division Office, Dhankuta handed over the key to Chief of DCC, Bhojpur, Kamal Thulung Rai amid a programme here on Wednesday.
"A sense of despondency was seen among the sports persons here in the district due to the lack of a stadium. Now the stadium is constructed. We can also organise big sports competitions by looking after and maintaining the stadium," Rai said, receiving the key. He said the DCC will establish coordination with the office concerned for the preservation and maintenance of the stadium.
The then District Development Committee had bought land for the stadium 16 years back. The stadium has been constructed at an investment of Rs 140 million of the provincial government.
