Iraq beat Nepal by 2-6 in a friendly match held at the Alfaya sports ground in Basra, Iraq last night.
Iraq Captain, Ala Abdul Zahra scored the opening goal from a free-kick in the seventh minute of the game. Nepal did put pressure on Iraq and scored an equalizing goal in the eight minute. It was an own goal from Ahmed Ibrahim.
Nepal then took the lead in and Manish Dangi scored in his debut game. Mohammad Abdul Zahra then scored the equalizing goal from a corner and made it 2-2. Ayaman Hussein scored from defensive error in the 40th minute and injury time of first half to make it 4-2 at half time. Alsamari scored the fifth goal for and Sajjad Jasim scored in made it 6-2 win for the hosts.
The national team will now fly to Kuwait to play the FIFA world cup qualifying games.
Nepal has been grouped together with Chinese Taipei, Jordan and Australia. So far, Nepal has registered one win and suffered four losses in the qualifying games.
