Chasing the usual target of 102 runs for victory, Nepal was reduced to 94 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
Rohit Paudel added 47 runs for Nepal, who batted poorly, but any batsman could not score double-digit runs. Rakip Patel of Kenya took three wickets to cover Nepal cheaply. Viraj Patel, Shem Ngoche and Eliz Otieno took two wickets each.
Earlier, after winning the toss at the Gymkhana Cricket Ground in Nairobi, the home team Kenya scored 101 runs for the loss of all wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Lucas Oluoch scored the highest 33 runs for Kenya. Collins Abuya scored 20 runs and captain Shem Ngoche scored 13 runs. Other players were not able to make double digit runs.
Nepal's captain Sandeep Lamichhane alone took 5 wickets in bowling. Adil Ansari took two wickets and Sahab Alam and Dipendra Singh Airi took one wicket each. With this defeat of Nepal, the five-match series has been tied at 2-2. Nepal earlier won the first match by five wickets and the third match by four wickets.
In the third match, Nepal lost to Kenya by 18 runs. Now the final and decisive match of the T-20 series will be held on Tuesday. After that, ODI series will be held between the two teams on 17th, 18th and 20th of August.
