Indra Kumari Malla, a trainer who was supposed to fly to Japan on Sunday for the Tokyo Olympics, was not able to do so after she tested for the coronavirus. The Nepal Olympic Committee instead sent another trainer, Santosh Shrestha, as her replacement.
Malla had been training Saraswati Chaudhary, who will be participating in the 100-metre race at the Tokyo Olympics. However, Malla tested positive during a PCR test conducted on Saturday as a result of which she was not permitted to fly to Japan.
According to the organising committee of the Tokyo Olympics any person who tests positive for COVID-19 even once within the last 14 days of arrival will not be allowed to enter Japan.
Meanwhile, when Malla got a PCR test conducted by herself on Sunday her report was negative. She had got a PCR test conducted at Star Hospital where all members going for the Tokyo Olympics had got their PCR tests conducted.
She has alleged that her report was purposely shown as positive to stop her from going to the Tokyo Olympics. Malla has mentioned that there was a conspiracy hatched against her because all members going to Tokyo were staying in the same hotel and how could only she test positive for coronavirus.
