With three national records, Taradevi Pun has won the gold medal in weightlifting at the ninth National Games. In the women's 81 kg weight group of the ongoing competition in Pokhara, Tara has set three national records in snatch, clean and jerk and total.
She has set a record by lifting 70 kg in snatch and 102 in clean and jerk for a total of 172 kg.
Taradevi has become the only athlete to win 6 consecutive gold medals in National Games.
She has won gold consecutively from the fifth to the ninth National Games. She has become the only Nepali female athlete to carry more than 100 kg.
