Nepal has become the runner-up in the second Saba Women's Championship held in the Maldives. While Sri Lanka won the title consecutively, Nepal became the runner-up.
In their last match on Wednesday, Nepal maintained their chances of winning the title with an easy win over Bhutan. But on Wednesday night itself, Sri Lanka became the champion by defeating the home team Maldives 72-59.
In the championship, Nepal and Sri Lanka had equal four points from two wins and one loss.
But since Sri Lanka scored more points than Nepal, Sri Lanka became the champion. In the first championship held in Kathmandu in 2016, Sri Lanka won all the matches and Nepal came second.
