Nepal defeated Malaysia in their second match of the T20 International Cricket Series today.
Nepal defeated Malaysia by 6 wickets in the match played at the Tribhuvan Cricket Ground in Kirtipur for the second consecutive victory in the tournament. Earlier, Nepal had defeated Papua New Guinea by 15 runs in the first match on Monday.
Nepal completed the 115-run target set by Malaysia by losing 4 wickets in 13.4 overs. In Nepal's victory, Asif Sheikh played the highest half-century innings of 57 runs. Playing 38 balls, he contributed 57 runs with the help of seven fours and a six. Similarly, Dipendra Singh Airy added 21 runs, Dilip Nath 15 runs, Rohit Poudel 12 runs and Kushal Malla 2 runs.
In bowling, Pawandeep Singh of Malaysia took 2 wickets while Saeed Aziz and Muhammad Amir took 1-1 wickets each. Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Malaysia lost 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 114 runs. Zubaidi Zulkifle contributed 32 runs for Malaysia while captain Ahmed Fazi added 24 runs. Similarly, Saeed Aziz contributed 14 runs, Sharvin Muniyandi 9 runs, Mohammad Amir 16 runs and Vijay Unni 3 runs.
In bowling, Nepal captain Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took 2-2 wickets each while Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airy and Avinash Bohara took 1-1 wickets each. Now Nepal will play against Papua New Guinea tomorrow.
