Nepal has posted a 175-run target to the US in the triangular One Day International (ODI) series under the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2. Put to bat after losing the toss, Nepal registered a total of 174 runs in 48 overs at the loss of all wickets at Al Amerat Stadium of Oman.
Nepal’s Captain Gyanendra Malla gathered 55 runs with three boundaries. With this, Gyanendra has set a record of making the highest run-scorer in ODI for Nepal. He has so far made 1,366 runs, including three half-centuries in 15 tournaments. Earlier, former captain Paras Khadka had gathered 1,315 runs in 10 tournaments.
In the tournament, opener Kushal Bhurtel contributed 36 runs while debut cricketer Gulshan Jhaved 28 runs. Likewise, Karan KC gathered 12, Binod Bhandari 10, and Rohit Poudel and Sompal Kami made two-run each. Opener Asif Sheikh was sent to the pavilion after he posted three runs. Sandeep Lamichhane made 11 runs while Sushan Bhari gathered two runs unbeaten.
US Captain Saurav Netrabhalkar took four wickets while Keli Philip sent three batsmen to the pavilion. Three other bowlers took one each.
